Ceremonies

All human cultures mark change with ceremony and ritual.

Ceremonies and rituals bring people together around a common goal, joy or pain, to join in their commitment, celebration or mourning in a way which includes body, heart, mind, soul and spirit.

I create and lead ceremonies and rituals to mark all of life’s changes, in accordance with your spiritual beliefs and practices, for example:

  • joining as a couple in a marriage or civil partnership (I am registered to conduct legally registered wedding ceremonies in Scotland)
  • moving into a new home
  • welcoming a new baby or an adopted child
  • the death of a loved one
  • becoming an adult or an elder
  • transitioning from one gender to another
  • healing and moving on from the past

I offer this service to people of any faith or none, working with you to design a ceremony or ritual which reflects your deepest and highest desires for your life and that of your loved ones, and creates a gateway to the future.

This service is particularly appropriate for those who consider themselves ‘spiritual but not religious’, who are Pagan, or who are part of families with members of more than one faith.

Payment:

Funerals: £130 plus expenses

Other ceremonies: £150-£500 sliding scale (pay what you can afford) plus expenses.

These fees include all planning meetings, writing the ceremony, ceremony rehearsal where required (e.g. weddings/civil partnerships, namings) and conducting the ceremony itself.

Expenses are payable for travel costs (45p per mile or standard fare public transport), a supplement for any necessary overnight stays, plus accommodation if required.
